Fire Fighting

Employers are now legally obliged to comply with the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations which specify the responsibilities of persons appointed specifically for fire safety, the use and operation of fire equipment, fire risk assessments and training. Our stations meet the requirements of the BAFE SP101 Standard for the supply and maintenance of fire fighting equipment. Mines Rescue can assist with training provision and advice in the following manner.

Each course is suitable for management and employees and will give them a far greater appreciation of fire prevention in the workplace. Delegates will receive expert tuition on how to reduce the risk of fires in the workplace and what their actions would be if a fire were to occur. Our instructors are accredited BAFE fire engineers (British Approval for Fire Equipment), which enables us to offer their knowledge and practical expertise to every delegate. The overall aim of our courses is to ensure all delegates act safely and do not put themselves in danger.

Fire equipment servicing contracts available - 'no premises too large or small'. We can also supply a wide variety of extinguishers, equipment and PPE for your fire fighting personnel.

Course Details

Fire Awareness Course

2-4 hour course – designed to provide delegates with an understanding in basic fire awareness. The course is designed to include a theoretical and practical session where the delegates acquire experience in the use of fire extinguishers.

Fire Engineer's Course

This course is designed to provide delegates with the necessary knowledge and skills to service and maintain fire extinguishers. To British and European standards Underpinned by IFEDA.

Fire Warden's Course

4 hour course – covering the duties and responsibilities of a fire warden, and a brief introduction to the causes of fires. A practical session is also included. This course should be combined with the awareness training to give a higher level of competency for your fire fighting personnel.

Hose Reel Fire Team Training

A 3 hour course covering the safe use and after use of hose reels and ancillary equipment. This course can be run with the Fire Awareness Course.
