For over 100 years, Mines Rescue Service has developed its specialist skills, experience and knowledge gained from working in a difficult and potentially dangerous environment, to effect the rescue and escape of mineworkers from underground.

Following the return of the coal mining industry to the private sector, Mines Rescue Service Ltd, working closely with the new owners, has continued and built upon those proud traditions.

We are unique in having been approved by the Secretary of State for the provision of an escape and rescue service from underground coal mines, and are subject to rigorous audits by the Health and Safety Executive. Mines Rescue Service Ltd is also contracted to The Coal Authority to attend all coal mining related hazards to ensure public safety.

Mines Rescue Service Ltd now brings this expertise to support a comprehensive range of health and safety related products, training and services available to a wide range of private sector companies, large and small businesses and public sector organisations. A variety of courses is provided and each one structured around the the following core titles.

All courses are accredited by the appropriate award ing body and successful course delegates will receive a competency certificate.

Training centres nationwide

Mines Rescue Service provides training facilities nationwide. From Dinas in South Wales to Crossgates in Scotland. Our qualified trainers are able to provide expert training in all aspects of safety. We can also supply courses to be held in-house at your company anywhere in the UK and Ireland.
