Breathing Apparatus

Breathing Apparatus are highly specialised pieces of equipment; potential wearers must be adequately trained. All Mines Rescue training courses comply with BS EN 529: 2005 Respiratory Protective Devices - Recommendations for selection, use, care and maintenance.
The basic training, assuming the full programme to train the wearer to use self-contained open circuit compressed air breathing apparatus and closed circuit breathing apparatus, should typically comprise at least 20 hour. If other types of apparatus will be used and if no Rescue Operations are to be carried out, the duration of the training can be shortened, but typically not to less than 8 hours. Refresher training should be given twice a year if the devices are not used frequently; once a year if the devices are used frequently.
Breathing Apparatus Sales & Servicing
We can service most manufacturers' escape and breathing apparatus to the prescribed maintenance plan, as required.
All Mines Rescue Service Training Centres contain purpose-built servicing areas which are equipped with sterile zones and high pressure oxygen and air recharging facilities. We would prefer to service and maintain breathing apparatus within our own facillities but we can operate at customers' sites if suitable servicing areas are available.
All our service engineers are competence trained, traceable to the manufacturer.
We also offer a wide variety of breathing apparatus and associated safety equipment for sale.
